Rubber flapper swing check valves are uniquely simple in design but durable for use on a variety of applications.
With only three major parts: body, flapper and cover, there is relatively on maintenance. However, the flapper can be replaced in a matter of minutes. The valve body seat is on an angle of 45 degree to the centerline of the pipe, permitting horizontal or vertical flow up installation. With the flapper full open, there is a straight unobstructed flow passage, so all foreign matter is flushed away by the flowing medium. This eliminates clogging. Due to this unobstructed flow passage the pressure drop is considerably lower through the rubber flapper check than through conventional swing check valves.
Normally rubber flapper swing check valves are made of ductile iron. The flapper is Buna-N but can be compression molded from various synthetic rubbers.
